An anointed preacher and teacher, the Reverend Andrea L. Phillips is an ordained woman of God whose faith stands in the manifestation of God’s plan for her life. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School and a Master of Arts degree in Religious Education from Hartford Seminary. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Connecticut.  Her ministry has always extended outside the four walls of the church to reach those who are imprisoned, hospitalized, homeless, and addicted. Over the past twenty-five years in ministry, including prison and youth ministry, she has served in various capacities including assistant pastor, associate minister, Sunday school and new members teacher, deaconess, intercessor, treasurer, youth director, women’s director, usher, and choir president.  Rev. Phillips is passionate about writing sermons, and her interests include shopping, cooking … and more shopping!  Her love is forever extended to the Kings and Queens of the Royal Blue and White Family: Zeta Phi Beta Sigma. Her favorite quote comes from Bessie Anderson Stanley’s poem, “Success”: “(S)he achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; … who has enjoyed … the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; … who has always looked for the best in others and given the best (s)he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction.”
